 Hi Cole:

you will think this ridiculous BUT I found this post from 2021 and am adding it here but will add a new current post (since it's now 2-24!) after and I am going to try and stick to it this time!

December 18, 2021

Okay, Cole, it seems like I cannot stick to a routine – waiting a year until once again posting a thought.  So I will try and do better than once a year going forward!

Playing catch-up is hard!  This Thanksgiving was pretty memorable as GreatAunt Jeanie had been really sick but was able to host Thanksgiving at her Condo this year.  We were all so happy to be together again.  With the Covid 19 pandemic partially in the rear-view mirror now (new variants coming up all the time however), we are able to be in the same room and even hug each other!   We had a delicious dinner – hybrid as I made the turkey and your dad made the mashed potatoes and green beans and we ordered other sides from Publix.  It was all really tasty.

You and Lexi took a nice swim at Jeanie’s pool before we ate.  Then, dinner, pie, and cookies made by Dad.

Okay – then Hanukkah came really early this year.  Two days after Thanksgiving.  I made brisket, latkes with asparagus and sparkling cider for you, wine for the grow-ups.  Great Aunt Jeanie didn’t come as she hadn’t been going out too much so I brought her a plate of food the next day.  We played dreidel on the floor and daddy kept getting NUN and I was out too quickly!!  You seemed to get Gimel every time!!  You and mom ended up playing and because we started with 10 coins, you might have gone on forever.  Next time less coins to begin the game!!   You were a happy camper when you finally won.

I got you a Mad Libs book and we did a funny story with latkes.  You and Lexi had a blast singing the dreidel song with a karaoke mike I got you.  It was a lot of fun.

We also did several Hanukkah events including one in Abacoa where they had latkes, donuts, and entertainment.

Bounce houses, bungee jumping (which you loved!), lighting the first candle on a giant Menorah, and a helicopter delivering chocolate coins! So much fun.

We also went to Rosemary Square where there were some Hanukkah activities – we got there a little late so missed some of the fun.  Next year we will get there on time.  Mom is making a list of “go-to” activities for next year. 😊

We did the last night of Hanukkah at your house where mom made latkes for the very first time – and they were delish!

When Hanukkah was over, we did some Christmas activities – we visited the Sandi Tree that is made out of beach sand.  They light up the tree at night and it’s really  pretty. There was music and a lot of people.  You and Lexi were bored because it took forever to light the tree but it was still fun.

We did Zoo Lights one night which was fun until you fell and hurt your knee.  You were not doing that well after that.

But there were moments of fun too.  You had a friend with you which made it better. You made s’mores over a fire pit.

Lexi had put up such a fuss before we got into the zoo that I think she wore herself out and daddy had to carry her most
of the time.

When we left there, we went to see the Christmas lights at Okeeheelee Park and mom let you come up to the front and sit with her.  You even got a hamburger at MacDonald’s after even thought you were so tired, you almost fell asleep.  We were joking with you that your eyelids were closing – you pushed through it and stayed awake until you had that burger!  (We waited in line for about 20 minutes – it was ridiculous! – but see what mom and dad did just for you – no one else ate anything.  ðŸ˜Š

Uncle Jeremy arrived on Thursday night and we went to Rosemary Square to see snow and Santa.  You and Lexi Sat with Santa and I think you asked for a phone!  I wonder if Santa will oblige?

We had dinner at City Cellar and your Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Michelle and cousin Robbie came too!  You had a great time eating the calamari.
