Cole got up about 9:30 (he slept in both mornings) and I gave him some oatmeal and an O-ROW (orange). He then told me "down" and "go" and walked to his stroller and began to get in.
So he wanted to go for a walk. We did. And it was very HOT out. We walked a long way - about 2 1/2 miles by my phone app which left me HOT and exhausted -but mainly hot.
We were supposed to meet Alex and Nic at 11:30 at a restaurant which I thought was about 20 minutes drive. It was already after 11 by this time and I needed a cool down and a change of clothes. Cole was fine. So I did a quick turnaround and we got on the road. I tried my Google map again and there was no sound, so I switched to the GPS and followed the whispered directions. Got on 14 which was PACKED. Evidently everyone and his MOTHER was going to Disney. We were on our way to Universal - Margaritaville. It took forever but Alex called and said they were running late too, so no problem.
So we get to Universal - I really hate going to places I'm not familiar with - it makes me nervous! Alex called just then and calmed me down telling me what to do. The parking garage, once I found it was okay - they lead you into the spots. I parked and then took Cole out of his seat, opened the trunk to get the stroller AND I couldn't figure out how to open it!! I know Nic showed me but I got myself all out of sorts worrying about Cole and my inability to get the stroller open! I started to look for moms who might be able to help me. I called Nic and he told me to look for a latch. I am worrying about Cole (putting him in the trunk to sit but scared to death and watching him with one eye) and trying to open the damn thing. Nic said just tell Cole to sit still and he will so I did and he did. I called out to some passersby and they came and helped and the stroller finally came to life as I released the lock at last! I really was almost in tears and then Alex had alerted me that I would have to walk quite a way to the restaurant from there so I wasn't sure what to expect. I saw escalators and an elevator and it said Spiderman but I didn't know what that meant. Was that the way to a Spiderman exhibit or show or something? I wanted to take the Elevator with the stroller but wasn't sure where that would lead. And I was a bit afraid of holding the stroller on the escalator, but I had seen Nic do it at some point so I guessed I could too. Anyway I ended up taking it and it worked. I went down two levels before I realized I didn't know where I had parked and how would I find it later??? I knew I had come down 2 flights and there were numbers so I was able to calculate that part and then realized that Spiderman was my area so I jotted both down.
Then, I saw people being stopped on the way to "the attractions" and thought that I was in the wrong place and that I would have to pay to get into the park. Alex called and I was practically in tears, I was so flustered. She calmed me down and I figured out that they were just checking people's bags before allowing them through. She sent Nic to meet me and we connected thankfully and he walked me to the restaurant where Alex had ordered a margarita for me. AHHHHHHHHHHH that was good. It seemed that everyone was a bit late and they were just ordering and she ordered for me and we ended up having a great lunch Cole was a bit fussy (the only time he had been the whole trip) because he was hungry and tired but overall he was great. Alex wasn't too thrilled that he didn't greet her in a "mom! I am SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU" fashion. And everytime he called for his "Amah" I smiled. Delightful.
It was a WONDERFUL Mother's Day!
